- What our chatbot does Our chatbot is built for Instagram marketers and businesses. It helps answer customer questions about things like products, pricing, delivery options, offers, and stock availability on their behalf. To do this,it connects to Instagram using Meta’s official APIs so it can read incoming messages and send replies automatically.
- Information we process When someone messages an Instagram account that uses our chatbot, we may process:
- The Instagram user’s ID or other identifiers shared by Instagram
- Username and display name (if Instagram provides this via the API)
- The content of messages (for example, questions about products, prices, delivery, etc.)
- The business account’s ID and basic details needed to run the chatbot
- Technical information from our own systems, like request timestamps, status codes and server logs, which we use for security and debugging
- How we use this information We use the information above to:
- Receive messages sent to the Instagram business account
- Generate and send helpful automated replies about products, prices, delivery, stock, and related support questions
- Give the business owner or marketer a view of past conversations and simple insights (for example, how many messages they receive and what people often ask)
- Keep the Service running smoothly, fix bugs, and prevent abuse or misuse
- Legal basis (if required by law) If data protection laws apply (for example, in certain regions), we generally rely on:
- The legitimate interests of the Instagram business using our chatbot, so they can respond to customer messages and manage customer relationships
- Consent that the business may have obtained from its users for automated messaging or data processing, where local law requires it
- When we share data We only share data when it is necessary to provide and maintain the Service:
- With trusted service providers (such as cloud hosting, logging, and monitoring tools) who help us run our infrastructure. They act on our instructions and must protect the data.
- With Instagram/Meta, as part of how their APIs work when messages are sent and received.
- How long we keep data We keep chat messages and related data for up to 90 days from when they were collected. We use this time to:
- Let businesses see recent conversation history
- Improve reply quality and reliability
- Monitor and secure the Service
- Technical information from our own systems, like request timestamps, status codes and server logs, which we use for security and debugging
- Where data is stored We use cloud providers (such as AWS) to host our systems. Our main servers are expected to be in United States regions, which means your information may be processed outside your home country.
- How we protect data We take security seriously and use reasonable measures such as:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS)
- Restricted access to production systems
- Access controls and monitoring
- Your choices and rights Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights like:
- Asking what information is held about you
- Requesting corrections if something is inaccurate
- Asking for your information to be deleted, as long as we are not required to keep it for legal reasons
- Children’s privacy Our Service is built for businesses and their customers and is not designed for children under 13 (or any higher age required by local laws). If we learn that we have unintentionally processed information about a child in a way that breaks the law, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.
- Updates to this policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our Service or legal requirements change. When that happens, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, add a notice on our website.
When required by law, we take steps to make sure there is an appropriate level of protection for any data that crosses borders, including contracts with our service providers.
